Causes of Scientific Revolution

The Scientific Revolution became a real break in the development of science. It influenced the development of philosophical and religious thought being the major contradiction and innovation in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and had a great influence on the life of educated people of the Western World. This article is devoted to the scientific revolution in the Western Civilization. In the paper special attention is paid to philosophical and religious thoughts in the connection to scientific thought.

The expansion of trade. Merchants undertook sea voyages and had navigational problems. These problems had to be solved and, as a result, there appeared scientific thought and research for finding possible solutions.

Medieval Universities. The philosophical talks and ancient philosophers' studies, such as Aristotle and William Ockham, aroused interest and caused the thought.

The Renaissance was a period of great cultural development in Western Europe. It started in the 14th century. Leonardo da Vinci and Plato were interested in Mathematics. Thus, people became interested in this discipline too, because of the influence of great masters.

In general, the scientific revolution had several main aspects. They are the following:
• experimental method development;
• Mathematics and nature connection;
• scientific knowledge in practice;
• scientific institutions; development.

Scientific revolution did not appear at once. It developed for some period of time. Even though scientific revolution lasted for too long, it revolutionary changed the way people were thinking. The most significant changes occurred in biology (blood circulation study), astronomy (invention of a new universe model), chemistry (discovery elements of nature) and physics (invention of laws of gravitation and motion).

Thus, occurring in the period of the religious thought and power, scientific revolution brought significant changes to Europe and the whole world. The achievement and discoveries of that period of time formed the basis for the present world and all its innovations. However, the religious thoughts did not lost its importance and influence on people remaining a necessary force in the lives of European people. The article briefly analyzes scientific revolution in the Western Civilization and its causes. Besides, the paper examines philosophical and religious thoughts in the connection to scientific thought.

Class Notes - Human Resource Management

It is the discovering of potential of applicants for actual or anticipated organizational vacancies. It actually links together those with jobs and those seeking jobs.

Flippo's definition: "It is a process of searching for prospective employees and stimulating and encouraging them to apply for jobs in an organization."

Thus the purpose of recruitment is to locate sources of manpower to meet job requirements and job specifications.

Factors affecting Recruitment:
1. The size of the organization.

2. The employment conditions in the community where the organization is located.

3. The effects of past recruiting efforts which show the organization's ability to locate and retain the good performing people.

4. Working conditions, salary and benefit packages offered by the organization.

5. Rate of growth of the organization.

6. The future expansion and production programs.

7. Cultural, economic and legal factors.

However these factors may be divided specifically as Internal and External factors.

Internal Factors:
1. Recruitment policy of the organization

2. Human resource planning strategy of the company

3. Size of the organization and number of people employed

4. Cost involved in recruiting employees

5. Growth and expansion plans of the organization

External Factors:
1. Supply and demand of specific skills in the labour market.

2. Political and legal factors like reservations of jobs for specific sections of society etc

3. The job seekers image perception of the company.

Steps of a Recruitment Process:
Personnel recruitment process involves five elements:

1. A recruitment policy

2. A recruitment organization

3. A forecast of manpower

4. The development of sources of recruitment

5. Different techniques used for utilizing these sources & a method of assessing the recruitment program

These five elements are further elaborated below:

1. Recruitment Policy: It defines the objective of the recruitment and also provides a framework for the implementation of the recruitment program. The policy should be based upon corporate goals and needs. The criteria for selection and preferences should include merit and suitability.

2. Recruitment organization: It is necessary to centralize the recruitment and selection function in a single office. This will bring about maximum efficiency and success in hiring. This centralized office is known as the Employee Office or the Recruitment Section.

3. Forecast of Manpower: This usually specifies:

a. Jobs or Operations for which the person should be available.

b. Duration of their employment.

c. Salary to be offered & terms of the employment

d. Necessary qualification and experience

4. Sources of Recruitment: There can be two kinds of sources for recruitment:

a. Internal – This includes personnel already on the payroll of an organization. Whenever there is a vacancy, somebody within the organization fills in or is upgraded.

b. External – These sources lie outside the organization.

5. Methods of Recruitment: The possible recruiting methods can be divided into three categories:

a. Direct – In this method, recruiters visit colleges and technical schools, e.g. Infosys, the Tata Group, Accenture, IBM, Siemens and several other companies maintain continuous relationship with institutions to hire students for responsible positions.

b. Indirect – This involves advertising in newspaper, radio, T.V., journals etc. Advertising can be very effective if its media is properly chosen.

c. Third Party methods – This include use of commercial or private employment agencies, placement officials of schools, recruitment firms etc. Friends and relatives of present employees are also a good source from which employees may be drawn as part of the "Buddy Referral" programs.

Thus broadly the Personnel Recruitment Process can be mapped in a Flowchart as below:
Personnel/Human Resource Planning -> Locating needed Personnel -> Selecting Qualified Personnel -> Placing New Employees on the Job

Selection Procedure
The Main Objective of a selection procedure is to determine whether an applicant meets the qualification for a specific job, and then to choose the applicant who is most likely to perform well in that job.

The entire process of selection begins with an initial screening interview and concludes with a final employment decision. When a selection policy is formulated, organizational requirement like technical and professional dimensions are kept in mind.

Steps in selection procedure:
1. Reception of applications or preliminary screening
2. Application bank that gives a detail about the applicant's background and life history
3. A well conducted interview to explore the applicant's background
4. The physical examination
5. Psychological testing that gives an objective look at a candidates suitability for that job
6. A reference check
7. Final Selection approved by the manager
8. Communication of the decision to the candidate.

Therefore the Selection Process can be pictorially represented in a flowchart as below:

Establishing Selection Process -> Identifying & choosing selection criteria -> Gathering information about potential employees -> Evaluating information for assessing applicant -> Making decision to select or reject -> Communicating decision

Thus the selection process should be planned such that human resource is efficiently used. The right person for the right job and inducting her/him into the organization or department successfully is the basic criteria of the entire process.

Obama Offers Scholarships And Grants For Mothers To Go Back To School

Money seems to be the main reason that mothers can't return back to school. If you are in that situation, rest assured that you are not alone. Many moms today find themselves in those same circumstances today.

However, it doesn't have to be an impossible dream. In fact, under the changes made through the Obama administration, there are better grants and scholarships available for moms. Returning to school can be a very realistic goal for mothers.

Mothers of all types - single moms, working moms, handicapped moms, online moms, busy moms - can take advantage of these new opportunities. The United States government is doing everything it can right now to help these moms return to school and get the college degree they want and need.

There are many things to consider about going back to school. First of all, a scholarships and grants do not need to be repaid. This is money that is given to you specifically for your education. Also, this money does not just have to go for tuition. It can be used for other expenses related to your education. The Pell grant amount has also been increased to $5,500 which gives moms even more money for their educational needs. Also, this can all be done through online classes, allowing moms to stay home, take care of their children and get their degrees!

The Obama plan makes everyone a winner by giving moms the opportunity to get more education, thus get better jobs, which will enable them to pay their bills and also have the self-esteem to pursue the career choices they have always wanted.

College Admission Essay Format

College admission essay format is a design to make your essay appear impressive and professional. There are some guidelines that have been set by academic authorities to make your essay have an ideal presentation. These guidelines must be followed because they will be evaluated as part of the paper.

Formatting an admission paper begins with a good header. Your admission paper will require a title page. The titled page should contain on separated lines, centered and double spaced, the title of the paper and the writer's name. The instructor's name and the course name are left out since this is not a work for class presentation. Most admission papers are not necessary to be started using outlines. But if you use an outline to commence the paper, the outline should be typed on the centre of the page one inch from the top and double-space the outline to fit the first line of the text. Take note that the outline should appear in short sentence form rather than in the shorter topic form. It is a skeleton of the admission paper.

Number all pages of your paper. If you use the MLA format, number all pages after the title page in the upper right hand corner, half an inch from the top. The outline pages should be number with small Roman numerals. Number the text pages with Arabic in the upper right hand corner. Begin the text one inch from the top and leave one inch margin at the bottom and sides of the paper.

You will normally be given word or page limits. Respect these limits even if you think you have something very important to write about. If you go beyond these limits, the rest of the work will be discarded.

If you are not given a particular font style, use the clear formatting. This will require a twelve point font size using times new roman.

The paper must have an introduction, a body and a conclusion. There will be so many admission essays to be viewed by instructors and if your paper fails to meet these standards, they will be nervous and may end up giving poor grades or even shoving your paper aside. Nothing should be taken with delight because there is no room for making corrections. The only available correction is that you will not be admitted into that particular college.

The requirement of typing out your paper should not be repeated. Almost all admission essays are typed out. This will allow for an easy reading of your essay. Most teachers are so obsessed about the handwritings of students. Anything boring or not visible will receive little or no attention. Take note that at times, you may even find it difficult to read what you have written.

College admission essay format has a lot of ins and outs to cater for. In researching and writing this paper, you will not only draw inspirations from library research techniques, but also ask from your teachers or get help from parents. There are different styles such as the MLA, APA, and CBE etc. It is of the student's interest to have an insight into all these styles of writing and know what path his or her curriculum takes.

Creating a Multicultural Classroom Environment

Culture refers to the "traditions, rituals, beliefs, and values that are shared amongst a group of people."  Each person is a part of at least one culture.  Some families participate in several cultures.

Multiculturalism refers to the "sharing of many cultures."

The first goal of a multicultural program is to assist children with recognizing differences, as well as similarities, among all people.  Allowing children to explore varying cultures creates opportunities for them to see that even when people have different customs and traditions, they often share some common traits, too.

Children learn that people can be different and unique, yet still have much in common.  Such realizations help young children learn to accept differences and aid in eliminating prejudice and racism.  These realizations assist children with accepting and respecting people from all cultures and backgrounds.

The second goal of a multicultural program is to encourage cooperative social skills.  As children learn to accept differences and similarities among people, they can work and get along with others better.  They begin to see other's viewpoints and individuality. The multicultural classroom assists children from minority cultures in developing cooperation and social skills in a setting that may be unfamiliar to them.  Their self-esteem is boosted as they are recognized and accepted for their individuality. They feel good about themselves as other children recognize the worth of their traditions and customs.  The early childhood program that is culturally sensitive will build the self-confidence of its children by integrating the cultures of all the children into learning experiences.

The first ingredient for a successful multicultural program is the classroom teacher's knowledge of diverse cultures.  Take time to learn the backgrounds of your students, as well as the populations represented in your geographic area. Educate yourself on their beliefs, values, foods, and customs.  Share those with children as you incorporate them into learning experiences. Encourage children to ask questions that help them understand more about others who have a different background from their own.

Learn the traditions of each child in your classroom.  What holidays do they celebrate?  How do they celebrate birthdays?  How are they parented?  What are their favorite foods and family traditions?

The second ingredient a preschool teacher must have to successfully implement a culturally diverse classroom environment is an attitude of acceptance and respect for other cultures.  It requires an open mind that accepts and respects differences.  Children model what they see, so the teacher's inclusion and acceptance of different ideas, customs, and traditions helps them learn to accept and respect.

Helping children to compare, contrast, and learn about other cultures without making judgments about them requires this attitude of acceptance and respect. As teachers lead children to respect others who are different, they will begin to appreciate individuality.  As children grow and mature with these attitudes, they will have social skills that not only accept, but also applaud individuality.

The third critical ingredient for a teacher's success in implementing a culturally diverse classroom is the ability to add a multicultural perspective into curriculum planning and classroom management skills.  This requires careful consideration of children's cultures and traditions, and
necessitates planning to help other children experience them in learning centers and activities.

How does your program "measure up" as a multicultural environment?  Do you have multicultural materials?  Is diversity accepted and applauded?  Is the community well represented? Having children of differing cultures in the class can offer firsthand experiences and insight.  The customs and traditions of their cultures should definitely be represented in the learning environment.

Remember that providing the children with a multicultural program helps boost self-esteem and teaches them about acceptance and diversity.  A multicultural program will help children understand and work well with others as they grow and mature.

Handwriting Practice and Pencil Grips

A Good pencil grip is one of the first steps to developing good handwriting skills. As a parent you can help you child to develop good pencil grip. Correct pencil grip will allow your child to write quickly and smoothly, while a tight or incorrect grip can hinder writing.

The Tripod Pencil Grasp: This pencil grip is the one that is most recommended by schools. The pencil should be positioned so that there is equal pressure between the thumb, the side of the middle finger and the tip of the index finger. All fingers are bent slightly. When a pencil is held correctly, the thumb and forefinger form an oval when a child holds the pencil. Tension in the hand or fingers indicates weak fine motor skills.

You can improve your child's fine motor skills through various writing activities or through other fun activities which involve movement of fingers (like playing with play dough).

"We all know alphabets, so why not we just write the alphabets on a sheet of paper and get our children to practice their handwriting?"

If you are thinking like that then you are not alone. However I am sorry to say that it is the wrong approach. We need to practice the alphabets as per the method approved by the education board.

Good handwriting worksheets have numbers and arrows on each alphabet. Good handwriting worksheets have to take a step by step approach. ‘1? is where you start from - so the child starts at ‘1? and goes along the direction of the arrow. And then the child goes to ‘2? and moves along the direction of the arrow next to ‘2?. And then finally the child goes to ‘3? and moves along the direction of the arrow next to ‘3?

One of the other benefits of getting children to practice their handwriting on formal handwriting sheets is that the letters are in between the lines. This way you are teaching them about proportion of the lines. Practice is the best way to improve a child's writing.

Fine Motor Skills is the ability to control small precise movements with the fingers, wrists and hands. Its important to practice the fine motor skills for young children. These skills play an important role in a child's handwriting.

Good posture is important and plays a key role in handwriting skills. Bad posture creates stress on young spines. A lowered chin means your neck muscles are carrying the weight and the strain will flow right down the neck and down the back. So don't let your kids slouch.

We have all heard ‘handwriting analysis' before. ‘Graphology' is the analysis of handwriting particularly in relation human mind. People who have the skills to analyze handwriting determine a person's character by analyzing their handwriting.

Don't underestimate the importance of good handwriting skills. The best age to teach good handwriting skills to your children is between 3 and 10. However don't make it a boring ritual. Practicing handwriting is hard work and can be quite boring for kids. Try to make it a fun exercise. Don't be too hard on them and go slow.

Your Baby Can Read Reviews: Is It Effective?

I had looked at a lot of reading programs before I came across another Your Baby Can Read review and after using the product for about a year now I thought I would write my own personal experiences with it.

My wife and I have 3 children and we really emphasize the importance of a good education.  That's why when the kids were still very young we began to work with them so they would be very well prepared for school when it came time.  A lot of people do not realize that the early years of a baby are so impressionable and that the mind can soak up all kinds of information if we just chanel that energy in the right direction.

We already knew we wanted to teach out kids to read when they were young, but we needed a program that would be best suited for out situation.  My wife is astay-at-home-mom so she would have plenty of time to work with the 3 kidos.  After seeing a TV commerical for Hooked on Phonics we gave it a try.  It was a lot of fun for us, but the kids got really bored because those sounds didn't mean anything.  They could say "d-d dog" all they wanted, but it seemed to confuse them a little.  I know some schools use this approach in kindergarden and 1st grade, but even when children are 2 and 3 you can teach them in much more effective ways.

Then we came across Your Baby Can Read and really knew it was different.  The promises they made seemed totally off the wall though.  Teach your kid to read when they are still 5 months old?  That's just crazy.  What I did not realize is that although they can't read a Charles Dickens novel at that age, they COULD learn the concepts of reading and learn to recognize words and what they mean as well.

Along with the program came some books, cue cards, DVD videos and CDs and everything was really well put together.  Then as we started using Your Baby Can Read we saw the reason this system was going to be so effective.  It was using the childs senses as a tool and making it fun for them as well.  Besides seeing the word, and hearing the word, they are able to see the word in action.  All of these factors help to solidify that word in the child's mind and help them gain confidence to read.

Right now Your Baby Can Read is offering a 30 day trial with 3 free gifts as well.  This system may not be for you, but it's worth taking a look if you are interested.  Be sure to check out my wife's review of Your Baby Can Read here.

Preschool Learning Activities: Emotional Development & Fine Motor Skills Development in Preschoolers

Preschool learning activities vary in many different forms. If you use alittle creativity, you can come up with great preschool activities and learning activities for preschoolers and children.

Emotional Development activities for kids as well as Fine Motor Skills Development are very important areas to develop in your child.

Having your child cut out various shapes and objects is a great way to help develop fine motor skills.

Of course if you are going to allow your children or preschoolers to do this activity you need to ensure they are using the proper ‘child safe' scissors when doing ANY cutting in any material.

Here is a fun preschool learning activity that you can use with your child to help develop them in these specific areas of growth.

Keep a collection of old magazines, newspapers or flyers that are full of images of people with different expressions etc.

Instruct the children to pick a magazine or newspaper etc. to look through and find images of people's faces showing different expressions.

They may find pictures of happy faces, sad faces, surprised faces, angry faces, scared faces and many more.

The child can then ‘cut out' all the faces they find using ‘child safe' scissors of course, and they can discuss each different image with the parent or teacher and discuss what they see in the person's expression.

Another Preschool Activity Option:
You could even just have children find and cut out  a certain expression, or what ‘they' see as a certain expression.

For example, you could tell them to find any pictures of ‘happy faces' and see what they come up with, you may be surprised what they find!

It is good to keep these images and glue them to a piece of Bristol Board or construction paper, and then to laminate it. You can then cut them all out and save them in a box or envelope!

This will make the images last for years so they may be used again and again in many different ways to teach children.

You could even use these different faces and expressions and have children ‘GROUP' all similar expressions together in a pile.

Another Great activity for children becoming familiar with spelling and simple reading or word recognition would be to have a few different images (4-6) out.

You could then have the names of the expressions written on a piece of paper or a label (example) Happy, Sad, Angry etc.

You could have the child(ren) match the image to the word. This is excellent for simple reading and recognition of every day words that express emotion.

Teacher Roles and Responsibilities

Being an early childhood teacher requires you to be willing to wear many hats.  As an experienced teacher, you are already prepared to be flexible.  As a new teacher, remember that your job description may change on a daily basis.

In most cases, your role as an early childhood teacher will be very similar to that of a guide. A guide leads others down new paths.  A guide walks beside a person on a journey, not in front.  A guide also keeps others safe from harm.

As an early childhood teacher, you will be challenged to find new experiences to share with children.  Guide children, do not lead them, and move in a direction that interests the child.  As a guide, allow the child to choose their learning and playing style while making safety your number one concern!

Give up the notion that a teacher knows everything.  Become a partner in learning and encourage children to find their own answers instead of providing the answers for them.  By being a partner, teachers learn with the children and share in their experiences.

Early childhood teachers support learning by providing activities and materials that children find engaging.  By facilitating learning, supplying a developmentally appropriate environment, interesting materials, and adequate time to explore, play, and interact, children find learning easy and fun!

To nurture is to nourish.  Nurturing a child encompasses all aspects of development: social, emotional, cognitive, and physical.  In every interaction, a teacher should nurture appropriate growth and development.

Teachers must also take care to listen to a child including interpreting words and actions.  Listening carefully helps teachers determine a child's needs and aids in furthering the child's development.

Teachers communicate with many people throughout the day: parents, children, support staff, the general public, and administrators.  Early childhood teachers must be prepared to communicate with all of these people.  You should feel comfortable opening up, asking questions, seeking advice, and sharing your experiences.

Paperwork, lesson planning, preparing materials and the environment, and negotiating require teachers to have strong management skills.  Managing a classroom requires organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment.  There are many balls in the air and it is your job is to keep them up and moving!

Teaching is full of many responsibilities, roles, and challenges.  Like most worthwhile endeavors, it brings both challenges and rewards.  Be flexible and you will more readily enjoy the rewards of teaching young children.

What You Need To Know About Travel Insurance

Preparing for a major vacation or getaway requires you to pay all your travel expenses, such as cruises, airplane tickets and package tours in 100% advanced payment. The first two options require you to plan ahead of schedule. To avoid penalties, cancel your trip 60 days ahead of schedule. Companies, however, impose high penalties if you cancel close to your departure time.

Problems at home or diseases can also force you to drop the whole trip, so this can’t be avoided, which means you will try to get your money back. Additionally, your travel guide may also try to bail for his own reasons. Because these bail outs are inevitable, a lot of travel agencies in the industry have been forced to close down.

This makes travel insurance a very important part in planning a travel or a vacation. If you needed to cancel the trip halfway, it is good to have travel insurance so you could circumvent the issue. Among other things, travel insurances also cover for medications. After the September 11 terrorist attack, travel insurance become more of a demand. Years later, what used to be only 12% of travelers asking for travel insurance became 30%.

You have to see to it that your plans include; If you cancel the trip with an acceptable reason, the company will cover all of your expenditures. For example, if you become injured or sick, or a family member dies, it’s likely that you’ll be covered. Other reasons include deciding on the safety of your destination in the last moment, and the likes. If your travel agency somehow closes down, you should be compensated for supplier default. Also, your policy should include terrorism coverage which will reimburse you should your destination become a target of terrorism. Some insurance companies do not include medical care, and this can be really expensive, so you have to make sure it is included. Duplicating your previous health plans may result to conflicts of interest, so make sure you review the details painstakingly. Travel policies also need to include your previous medical conditions in the coverage.

You must buy the policy within a specified number of days after making your first trip payment; otherwise those conditions may be excluded. Finally, consider emergency medical evacuation coverage which provides for transportation in the event of a serious illness or injury. Your emergency medical insurance coverage should also include the transportation expenses of bringing you to the closest facility.

Travel insurance is not a priority for all situations, however. Travel insurance is necessary when; you are taking a multi-leg journey; you’re traveling to an area of unrest; or your trip is particularly expensive. Your travel agency should provide you with more information regarding coverage.

Advantages and Disadvantages Of Universal Health Care

What will universal health care cost us and what will be get from it?

The costs of the new health insurance and health care system will include increased taxes.  In some ways, it won't matter who pays those taxes.  If they are paid by corporations, they will raise the price tags of the goods and services they sell, so the individuals will be hurt as well.  If they are paid by the consumer, then the consumer will have less to pay for goods and services, so the corporations will be hurt as well.

When we look at the cost of any socialized medicine proposal, we should also look at the price of the existing health care system to make comparisons.  In today's medical system, those of us who can pay for national health care subsidize those who can't or won't.  The exact amount is uncertain, but your health insurance premiums are higher because your provider has to raise the rates for those who do pay to make up for those who don't pay.

The costs of our existing health insurance and health care system include the cost of lower productivity when a worker is unable to work because of a medical condition he or she can't afford to treat.  The costs of our present system include the costs associated with more children growing up without a father of mother.

One of the benefits or the present day system is our familiarity with it.  It's like an old car that has a broken driver's door and a big gash in the passenger seat.  We've gotten used to getting in the car from the passenger side and having a blanket over the gash in the seat.  Another car will have problems as well.  The car may be better or worse.  That part is unknown.  What is known is that the car will be unfamiliar and buying a car is a big commitment.

Once we make major changes to our health care system we will be unlikely to go back to the old medical system.  Even if the new system is decidedly worse, we will be stuck with it.  We may have higher price tags or worse care.  We may be able to tweak the new system and fix it or we may determine that the infrastructure is so poor that it too requires an overhaul.

National health care has the potential of boosting our economy.  Many people who are currently shackled to their employers because of the fear of losing their health insurance, may be able to move on to better jobs or start companies and hire others.

Under the present day medical system many people are unable to pay for preventative care.  They often wind up in the hospital and get expensive surgeries that they can't afford to pay for.  These surgeries may extend their lives, but may or may not allow them to work again.  An individual who gets medical care when the problem is a small one may be able to work and pay taxes much longer than the individual who only gets care when the situation is critical.

We should strive to create a system that keeps our workers working longer and our parents parenting longer.

Although we may have a health care system that is broken, there is no guarantee that a new health insurance and health care system will be any better.  However, far too many people are hurt by the present day health insurance and health care system for us to just throw up our hands and do nothing.  If we can ignore the rhetoric and focus on the facts a better medical system can be created that will not only benefit the uninsured, but will make us all stronger.

What are Series 7 Exam Requirements?

The Financial Industry National Regulatory Authority (FINRA (formerly NASD)) Series 7 exam requirements are similar to the usual requirements of generally the licensing test that one must pass in order to become a stockbroker. In order to take the exam, one must first obtain "sponsorship"/employment from a FINRA or exchange member firm. In addition, one must submit a set of fingerprints and undergo a basic background check. Typically to register with a firm and consequently the exam you have to complete a U-4 application. On this application you must disclose such things as prior work history, criminal background (if any), etc.
Series 7 Exam Overview

Time limit: 6 hours (the exam is broken into two parts, each part has a 3 hour time limit)
Exam administration: The Series 7 exam is multiple choice and is given on computer
Number of questions: 250 total (125 for each part).
Pre-requisites: You have to be sponsored by a broker/dealer to schedule to sit for the Series 7 exam through FINRA
Exam fee: $250. Note that this includes a $90 NYSE development fee.
Exam dates: The Series 7 exam is administered Monday through Friday

Common Series 7 exam candidate questions:

What is the Series 7 exam?

If you have come this far you should have a pretty good understanding of what you are in for. The Series 7 exam is probably the most well known securities exam to the general public. You have most likely heard of it before on the silver screen in such movies as Wall Street or Boiler Room. There is a good chance the Series 7 exam will be the most difficult exam you have or will ever take. The Series 7 exam is also known as the General Securities Registered Representative exam. A person who holds a Series 7 license is usually referred to as a stockbroker by the general public. The Series 7 license is the broadest securities license you can attain and will allow you to sell most all types of securities. Depending on your state you may also be required to obtain a Series 63 license, and you firm may require you obtain a Series 66 license in place of the Series 63 license depending on the capacity in which you will work.

What content specifically does the Series 7 exam cover?

The Series 7 exam covers content such as corporate securities (stocks and bonds), municipal securities and U.S. government securities, options, direct participation programs, investment company products, variable contracts and federal securities laws.

What happens if I fail the Series 7 exam?

First off you must be positive. If you study correctly you will pass this exam. However, if for some reason you don't get that magic 70% score and you fail your first attempt at the Series 7 exam, your sponsor can submit an amendment to reopen a window in which you can take the exam again. This window will not open until 30 days since your last exam attempt has transpired. At this point, your window will be open for 90 days.

There is no requirement for a sponsor firm to terminate your employment should you fail. However, every time you rewrite the exam, you must pay the required $200 registration fee. So your employer may require you to reimburse the fees paid to re-schedule the exam.

After three failed attempts, you must wait six months before you can re-take the exam for the fourth time. The six-month waiting period is appropriate since by that point you would have paid a total of approximately $600, and the cumulative expense by the fourth time would be $800. The six-month requirement is intended to provide a window in which an individual can ensure he or she is prepared for the fourth exam attempt. This process will then continue indefinitely, as there is no limit as to the number of times you can attempt the series 7 exam.

Romance, Marriages and Relationships

Romance, Marriages and Relationships

Astrologically Venus is known as the goddess of love. In a male horoscope Venus represents his to be wife. Mars is the energy that super charges this love. Rahu multiplies it to the extreme level.

But desires, pleasure and true love are three different things. Each plays a role in human life and with minute observation one can really deduce their level of intensity in a human life. For example I have always seen Rahu and Venus combination ending in a sudden love marriage, provided Mars is set free from blemishes.

In other cases I have seen that a dasha of Venus or planet like Rahu with Venus also results in an affair. (It can also result in an extra marital affair as well.). But in most of the cases Rahu Venus combination also denotes physical level of love rather than real love. This happens with more intensity when Jupiter is under some kind of blemish. In contrary to this Venus with Jupiter or Jupiter Venus exchange also results in love marriage some times. But this is more on a subtle level and has a grace which lacks in Rahu Venus case.

Watery signs bring more extremity to the passion and emotions. These combinations may result in emotional bonding and attachments. Sometimes when Moon is combined to Saturn and Venus Rahu combines then results are entirely different and sometimes drastic. For a long lasting relationship a male horoscope should always carry a strong Venus, both in D-9 and the ascendant chart. The seventh house should be free from Rahu, Saturn Mars relationship. Ketu should be free of blemishes and should not be placed in the seventh house.

In a female horoscope Jupiter should be strong and free from blemishes. It can be checked in both the charts. A debilitated and weak Jupiter is not good for a happy married life. With this Ketu, Saturn Mars and Rahu should not influence the seventh house.

A malefic Rahu and its dasha in a female horoscope may result in a highly ambitious personality. Such a lady may collapse her relationships when compared against her ambitions.
I have seen people matching their horoscope based on Ashtkoot compatibility. Some more advanced brains even use names for compatibility. Please note that both these methods carry big loopholes and I consider the second method to be the most unreliable one. After checking for Gunas one should look for condition of seventh house lords, Venus, Jupiter, current dasha , blemishes on seventh house, Rashi relationship and only then one can announce the real match. I have a example where a lady has a match of 36 Gunas and she got divorced. She is living all alone in USA. Her seventh house carried a debilitated Mars with Saturn aspect from tenth house. Her Jupiter was also debilitated.(A debilitated Jupiter in the ascendant combined to fourth, seventh, ninth or twelfth house lord in d-4, often results in a foreign travel)

I have noticed through experience that the placement of seventh house lord in a dual sign may also result in a second marriage provided the marriage was done at an early age of twenty one to twenty four. Blemishes created by Mars and Saturn can be avoided by simply avoiding an early marriage.

People are also concerned about Magalike Dosha. While Mangal means Shubha in Vedic terms, it is often associated to a dosha. Mars actually denotes energy. A channelization of energy is denoted by ascendant lord, Moon and associations to Mars. If energy is not channelized in a proper manner it can often results in malefic outbursts and hence can result in a separation.
Mere placement of Mars in ascendant (Narad Shanita), second house or so cannot and should not be considered a dosha.
There are few other point which must be noticed while analyzing some one for relationship:

1. Male or female, both horoscopes should be checked for condition of Jupiter in D-9 and D-1.
2. Seventh house, twelfth house and Moon should be checked for mentality.
3. Rahu, Venus and Mars combination in twelfth house or any other house should be checked thoroughly. Consider Mercury and Jupiter and you can estimate the amount of cheating this person can do.
4. Check for the last finger of both the hands, A bend in the opposite direction or certain blemishes should be checked.
5. Mars, Saturn+Mars, weak Ketu, Rahu+Venus+M ars, Rahu+Mars are certain combinations which indicate some bad habits. Check for influences of Mercury and Jupiter and you can ascertain what a person is upto.
